New Generations of grape varieties makes vineyards possible in areas that were once considered to cold for grape cultivation. We are delighted to offer vines of these new northern grapes.
We are a small family run operation that specializes in cold hardy grape vines originally developed by the private breeding efforts of Elmer Swenson and the grape breeding program at the University of Minnesota . These Varieties will grow in our areas as well as other northern latitudes across New York State , and the rest of the United States . Our vines are live greenhouse grown vines that are actively growing when they arrive. The compact root system requires a smaller planting hole thus speeding up the planting process.
In addition to our specialty items of cold hardy vines we plan on bringing you art, books, and craft items connected to northern viticulture in the not to distant future. In closing we would just like to say that we are confident that an entirely new crop is available to growers in Northern areas.
